2016 + LOVE
Hi girls!
Happy New Year! I want to start by saying THANK YOU for your love, loyalty, and kindness in these past 5 years. This blog has brought me so much joy, and I love connecting with you girls.
Looking back at the last 5 years, I have a lot to be grateful for. Actually now that I think about it, if I would’ve made a “5 year plan” in 2010, I would’ve NEVER imagined my life to look like it does today.
It’s better.
Up until 2 weeks ago, I couldn’t think of what my word for 2016 would be. I thought about the word “intention,” the word “flourish,” the word “thrive,” but none of them stuck.
I was laying in bed one night after a pretty emotional weekend with my family and it came to me: LOVE.
The verse that came to mind was 1 Corinthians 16:14: Let all that you do be done in LOVE.
And then 1 Peter 4:8 followed: Above all, LOVE each other deeply, because LOVE covers over a multitude of sins.
That’s when I knew my word needed to be LOVE.
I want LOVE to drive my marriage.
When I feel stubborn and want my own way, I want LOVE to soften my heart.
When I feel anxious about running my own business, I want LOVE to calm my soul.
When I sign-up a new client, I want LOVE to have them feel safe and welcome.
I want LOVE to drive my friendships leading to selflessness, encouragement, joy, and laughter.
I want LOVE to drive my time, reminding me to be patient, pause, and be present.
I want LOVE to lead me to forgiveness, to help me say “I’m sorry,” and to keep me calm as I respond to others.
I want to remember that I am fully LOVED by God, and that the person next to me is LOVED equally as much.
Most of all, I want to remember that every act is an act of LOVE or a cry for LOVE. And I want this to humble me.
Did you choose a word for 2016? I would LOVE (hehe) to hear some of your words. Please, share your word in the comments with me!
