Weekend & Vacation Eats: Home from Our Reno-Tahoe Vacation

Good-morning!

Today I am sharing days 26-28 of eats with you from my January #31DaysofEats Challenge (only a couple days left!). If you’d like to share your eats along with me post them on Instagram (in your feed or story) and use the hashtag above. Make sure to tag @paigeschmidt so I can see/share your post and regram it in my story!

I’m doing this challenge for myself in a simple effort to share more daily intuitive/non-diet eats with all of you. These post are my *most* requested and the *most* missed when I don’t share them.

Before we dive in, I want to remind us all that these posts are not for comparison. Rather, these posts are here to provide you with inspiration for food ideas and to give YOU the freedom and permission to listen to YOUR BODY as I listen to mine, apart from food rules or dieting.

Thank you so much for being here and I hope you enjoy! Leave a comment when you finish reading!

Day 26

I’m going to share less about what we did and focus here more on the food in this post, simply because I am a little short on time this morning. Hope you enjoy this style!

Scrambled Eggs With Salt and Pepper, Sourdough Toast, and Coffee With Almond Milk on the Side.

Breakfast: two scrambled eggs with salt and pepper, sourdough toast, and coffee with almond milk on the side.

Quizno's Italian Sandwich. This was a really yummy lunch!

Lunch: Quizno’s Italian sandwich.I haven’t had Quiznos in forever (I feel like they’re hard to come by these days)! Marco mentioned it sounded good and so off we went. This was really yummy!

Steak Fajitas With Rice and Sautéed Peppers and Onions on the Side at Miguel's Mexican Food in Reno

Dinner: Miguel’s Mexican Food in Reno. For any of you who live in Reno, this was the location at The Summit. It was super yummy! I got steak fajita’s and ate all but some of the peppers (a little too many peppers for me).

Day 27

Scrambled Eggs with Salt and Pepper, Sourdough Toast, and Coffee with Almond Milk on the Side.

Breakfast: two scrambled eggs with salt and pepper, sourdough toast, and coffee with almond milk on the side.

Coffee with a Bagel and Cream Cheese at Bibo Coffee in Mid-Town, Reco with New Friends.

Snack: Mid-morning I met another new friend for coffee at Bibo coffee in mid-town (met two new friends in Reno, yay!). The coffee was good, but not my FAVORITE. I was hungry when I arrived so I had this bagel and cream cheese while there. They don’t have much of a food selection at Bibo.

Eggs on Sourdough Toast with Salt and Pepper Hit the Spot for the a Quick Lunch.

Lunch: This lunch was a we don’t have anything else in the fridge and I’m starving but we don’t have time to go somewhere lunch… Two more eggs on toast with salt and pepper. This did the trick.

Rice and Orange Chicken - the Perfect Snack Before Dinner.

Snack: We were hanging out at a friends house for the evening and stayed until about 8:00. I was hungry but wanted to go out to dinner with M and get something good. The boys made rice and orange chicken so I had this bit to hold me over. It was delicious, but didn’t leave my stomach feeling great.

A Side Salad with Tomatoes, Croutons, Onions, and Cucumber.
a side salad and planned to share fish & chips and wings with M. I ate the side salad (yummy!) but only a wing, a piece of fish and a handful of fries. It was just okay.

Dinner: We ate at Great Basin Brewery for dinner and unfortunately it wasn’t great! I ordered a side salad and planned to share fish & chips and wings with M. I ate the side salad (yummy!) but only a wing, a piece of fish and a handful of fries. It was just okay.

Fish and Chips - Plenty of Leftovers to Save for Breakfast!

Marco took home quite a few leftovers and had them for breakfast the next day (he’s totally fine with eating dinner for breakfast – I can’t normally do that!). What about you?

Buffalo Wings with our Fish and Chips. Plenty Leftover to Eat Later.

Day 28

Blonde Roast Coffee and a Spinach and Feta Wrap From Starbucks as I Planned my week, updated our budget, and made our grocery list.

Sunday was our drive day back home (tear!). We got all packed up and then headed to the gym/Starbucks. Marco wanted to workout before he drove so he wasn’t antsy. I wanted to plan my week out. Off to they gym he went; off to Starbs I went.

Breakfast: I ordered a blonde roast coffee (drank half) and had a spinach and feta wrap. This wrap can be hit or miss and this one was definitely a HIT. So good! I got my whole week planned, updated our budget, and made our grocery list and that felt awesome.

Brown Rice Bowl From Chipotle with Pinto Beans, Steak, Pico de Gallo, Lettuce and Guacamole. We got Chips on the Side and Enjoyed with Salsa

We stopped around 1:00 for lunch at Chipotle near Sacramento. Our drive home is about 7 hours from Reno. This was a good Chipotle (another hit or miss place, right!?).

Lunch: I got a bowl with brown rice, pinto beans, steak, pico de Gallo, lettuce and guacamole. We got chips on the side and I enjoyed a handful of those with salsa as well.

A Quick Dinner at Home After a Week-Long Trip. Tamales for me. Simple! Once again, did the trick.

When we got home we spent 30 minutes getting all unpacked. This has become such a habit for us. Park the car and for the next 30 minutes we literally don’t talk. Ha! We just laser focus on unpacking, getting the house together, and then get into PJ’s and unwind.

Dinner: We weren’t that hungry for dinner so we decided to just eat what we had at home (going grocery shopping today). Marco had a yogurt and chicken pot pie (frozen) and then shared these tamales with me. Simple! Once again, did the trick.

Our week in Reno was awesome! I didn’t go snowboarding like I mentioned we might. I told Marco to go with the guys and have fun! I hung out with my dad for a day instead, which was really fun. We can’t wait to be back there again to see our friends!

I’ve got questions about February…

  1. What do you want to see more of next? I focused on eats in January and that was great! You can see all of my daily eats posts here.
  2. Would you like me to focus on ONE topic for February? Or post ideas as they come?
  3. Would you enjoy if I continued sharing eats over on Instagram @paigeschmidt in my story? I think I might do that for Feb!

Thank you for being here! Leave a comment below!
