I’m here with a daily eats post today.
Before we dive in, I want to remind us all that these posts are not for comparison (if these posts are triggering for you in anyway, consider checking out some of these body image posts instead).
These posts are to provide you with inspiration for food ideas and to give YOU the freedom and permission to listen to YOUR BODY as I listen to mine, apart from food rules or dieting.
Thank you so much for being here and I hope you enjoy! Leave a comment when you finish reading!
I started last Thursdays eats at the end of my last post. I’ll continue this days eats below.
Midday I was still working and needed a little bit of energy. I grabbed one of Marco’s premier protein shakes to sip on while I kept going.
After work, I had a call with a friend for a couple of hours (we were doing an energy levels assessment together) so I took that call in my bedroom so I could be next to Abby while she napped. I mean… how cute is this!
For lunch, I made a grilled cheese with avocado, tomato, cheddar cheese, and a little bit of gorgonzola. I ate most of this, but not all because it was pretty rich!
For dinner I made Marco and I palak paneer, chana masala, and garlic naan with brown rice and avocado. These two indian dishes are pre-made from Trader Joe’s and are SO good!
Friday, I worked through the morning and didn’t get hungry until after noon. I guess dinner from the night before really carried me over! For brunch, I made eggs with cheese, lots of pico de gallo, and a had a few chips on the side. I also snacked on some chips while cooking.
In the afternoon I went to the gym with Marco, then stopped by the grocery store on the way home. I picked up a big bag of cherries and have been snacking on them through the weekend. SO good!
For dinner, we went to BJ’s with friends. I had a few chips with artichoke dip to start (yum!) and just water to drink. I was driving.
For dinner, I tried to get their new chimichurri chicken dish, but they were all out. So I opted for the Sante Fe salad instead. It was good!
Saturday morning started out with coffee and the vet with Abby. She had to get her last round of what I call GO TO THE PARK shots (rabies and parvo shots). After her morning shots I took her for a walk with Marco and snacked on a GoMacro bar.
When we got home I was starving and made Marco and I a green smoothie to share while I heated up leftovers for lunch.
Leftovers were the same as the night before – and they tasted even better the next day! I love leftovers!
Abby and I had a super low-key Saturday. I made exactly zero plans with anyone while Marco worked a late shift. I went to the gym, stopped by Nordstrom Rack on the way home (got a new shirt – wahoo!), made a grilled cheese for dinner (didn’t end up eating the soup on the side – put it back), and cozied around the house. Abby and I went for a long evening walk as the sun was going down. It was so nice!
Sunday morning I woke up and went for a long hike with my friend Savannah and her pup Texas. Before we left, I made a smoothie to drink on the drive. In my smoothie: banana, cocao, cinnamon, chia seeds, blueberries, spinach, and almond milk.
When we got back from the hike we had super limited food at home. I heated up some leftover brown rice and topped it with avocado, pico de gallo, and tamari. It did the trick until I could make it back to the grocery store.
In the afternoon I stopped by Trader Joe’s to pick up some pre-made yummies. I have NOT felt like cooking as much in this summer heat. I just want cold, ready made foods. Anyone else? I had this lentil wrap when I got home, before I got ready for dinner with friends.
For dinner we went to a restaurant called Bistro Napa. It was DELICIOUS. We did happy hour and just got a bunch of small plates to share. I had a little bit of everything and a glass of wine.
Monday morning started out with an hour long walk at the park with Abby. She LOVES her walks/hikes. Such a good girl. We’re SO enjoying her.
When I got home, before work, I made an egg, gouda cheese, and tomato english muffin sandwich. This held me over pretty well through morning client work.
I took a work break to give Abby a short walk and let her stretch her legs. We found her first dandelion on that walk and made a wish.
She was intrigued!
For lunch, I had this mediterranean style orzo pasta salad from Trader Joe’s.
I put it into a dish and it felt homemade. So good! I will definitely be getting this again.
After work and before the gym with Marco I ate a little bit more. Two tofu spring rolls (told y’all I haven’t felt like cooking!). These pre-mades have been perfect!
After the gym we walked to pick up our favorite Mexican food and went to the jacuzzi with friends. I got a super veggies burrito. It was DELICIOUS.
Well my friends! Those are my eats from the past five days! What foods have you been craving this summer? Have you ALSO not felt like cooking?
