Daily Eats + Camping
Hey gorgeous!
I’m back from a weekend away, camping in Lake Topaz. We had a blast.
We came home with full hearts and about 50 mosquito bites. Worth it though!
Today I have some eats from Friday and then photos from the weekend to share with you. I love sharing life here, with you.
Before we dive in, I want to remind you that these posts are NOT for comparison (if these posts are triggering for you in any way, scroll THESE posts instead).
I share my eats in hopes that you’d leave here today feeling inspired and full of PERMISSION to listen to YOUR BODY, as I listen to mine. I hope these posts fill you with the FAITH you need to let go of ALL food rules/control (just as I have!).
Friday
Breakfast on Friday was bran flakes, raisins, banana, flaxseed, and almond milk. Oh, and a little swirl of agave to give it just the right sweetness. Yum!
No almond butter on this one – but sometimes I add that if I’m looking for extra substance.
Lunch was a kale/cruciferous salad (the pre-packaged one from TJ’s) with chicken, tomatoes, and leftover flatbread/hummus/tzatziki from our anniversary dinner.
Dinner was another greeeeat biiiiig salad. Who else loves a giant salad in a big ‘ol bowl? It’s been warm here (it’s the best!), so easy crunchy salads with “Just Chicken” from TJ’s have totally hit the spot.
This was a caesar salad with added cherry tomatoes. It took me less than 5 minutes to put together. Marco had one too and we ate this at the couch with a movie.
Intuitive eating note: When I first began eating intuitively it was *so* important for me to eat without distractions. Why? Because I cared *a ton* about food. It was almost all I thought about. I was so distracted by it.
So, I had to give myself the space to really focus on what I was eating so I could get ultra-satisfied and move on. Otherwise, I’d keep craving food.
Today, I no longer have that experience. So, sometimes the TV with dinner feels fun and okay!
What about you?
Saturday + Sunday
Saturday morning we woke up and headed down to Lake Topaz. Look at this cute girl, bundled up between pillows for the ride down.
On our way to the lake, we had gas station breakfast burritos. They’re DELICIOUS. There’s a gas station here that does them well when you’re on the run. Surprised us, too!
We had such a great trip. As I mentioned, we did get eaten alive by mosquitos. Ha! But we’re okay – just a little itchy 😉
I feel so refreshed after a weekend away, camping. Being outdoors rejuvenates me so much. This week, I’m excited to jump into coaching sessions (I have 3 openings this August!) and work.
Today (in fact, right after this post) I’m off to get my hair done. Wahoo! I’m so in need of a good haircut and color. Can’t wait for the fresh feeling of getting my hair done!
I hope you all have a GREAT week. I’ll be back later this week to share more 🙂
