I’m here with a daily eats post.
It’s been a full day meeting with clients and getting new clients signed up. Today started with a walk with my friend Nichole and will be wrapping up with taco night with Marco and the rest of our apartment crew. Management is throwing a taco party. Should be fun!
Here’s a photo from my walk this morning. I call this walk “Happy Creek” and walk there almost daily. I love this walk. It brings me so much joy to get out in the sun, move my body, sip coffee, and listen to the birds chirp the whole way through.
Before we dive in, I want to remind us all that these posts are not for comparison. Rather, these posts are here to provide you with inspiration for food ideas and to give YOU the freedom and permission to listen to YOUR BODY as I listen to mine, apart from food rules or dieting.
Thank you so much for being here and I hope you enjoy! Leave a comment when you finish reading!
Since moving to Reno Marco’s work schedule has shifted a ton from what it was before. This week his days off were Tuesday and Wednesday, and since it’s not my main coaching week (I mostly coach every other week) I blocked Tuesday and Wednesday off to be with him.
I woke up early both mornings to work and then checked in again mid-day. Tuesday we went on a hike and spent the day at the pool. It was lovely!
Wednesday we went to Lake Tahoe for most of the day. It was a BLAST. We paddle boarded, kayaked, and relaxed on the beach. At night, we BBQ’d at a friends house. This sure is feeling like a Self-Love Summer. My intentions are coming true!
Wednesday morning started off with breakfast tacos at home before our lake day. Corn tortillas, two eggs, cheese, and salsa. Yum!
On the way to the lake I snacked on a handful of pretzels while I drank my to-go coffee. I had a few more of these pretzels on our way home. (Marco always promoting Coors Light – HA! Really, he was just trying to make grandpa jealous as we sent this photo to him.)
At night, as I mentioned, we BBQ’d. I made Caesar salad and our friends BBQ’s tri-tip, corn and mashed potatoes. Yum! This was my plate.
After dinner we played a few games of pool and while we played I grabbed a few frozen (my fav) dark chocolate covered almonds to enjoy. The boys were eating cookies. Such a fun way to wrap up the night!
Afterward Marco and I came home, climbed into PJ’s and bed, and then relaxed. I watched an episode of Younger (anyone else LOVE this show?) and then fell asleep. Such a relaxing couple of days.
I talk quite a bit with my clients about “primary foods.” Secondary foods = the food we eat, and primary foods are the non-food sources of nourishment that fill us (relationships, career, joy, etc.). When we’re lacking primary, we often crave more secondary. These two days were PRIMARY foods FULL!
