How to: Make Overnight Oats
October 29, 2014
Good morning ladies!
Today I’m going to share one simple recipe with you that will be able to make over and over.
Overnight Oats! A basic, good-tasting recipe that can be dressed up any way you’d like.
You’ll need: oats, milk, nut butter, your favorite small seed, banana (+ any other fruit you’d like), and a yummy spice.
In this recipe I used: 1/3 c. oats, 1/3 c. rice milk, 1 T. flaxseed meal, 1 T. peanut butter, 1/2 banana, and 1 t. cinnamon. So yummy!
Before bed, put everything in a lidded container, mix it up well with a spoon. Cover, and place in the fridge overnight.
What works well for Marco and I: I make dinner, we eat together, and then Marco does the dishes while I prep us overnight oats and help to put his lunch together.
In the morning, add a splash more milk and with a rubber spatula (you can use a spoon, this just works so well) mix everything up. Enjoy your oats cold!
If you don’t like them cold, you can also warm them up for a more traditional oatmeal 🙂
Who is going to make ONO’s tonight?
Tip: this is a great breakfast when you’re a busy-bee in the mornings, and want to make the time to eat at home.
