Intuitive Eating Through a Busy Work Week
Good-morning!
This week is a maximum capacity client week (every available session slot full) and it’s been awesome. I’ve had such great sessions with my clients and am feeling GRATEFUL.
Today, I’m here with more daily eats. As I shared, it’s been a busy work week, so I’ve been eating to feel energetic, to keep my mind sharp, and to keep me going through the day. It’s been great!
Before we dive in, I just want to say that these posts are NOT for comparison (if these posts are triggering for you in anyway, scroll THESE posts instead).
I share my eats in hopes that you’d leave here today feeling inspired and full of PERMISSION to listen to YOUR BODY, as I listen to mine. I hope these posts fill you with the FAITH you need to let go of ALL food rules/control (just as I have!).
Tuesday
Breakfast: Tuesday morning started off with early writing, a walk with Abby, and coffee (in my coffee: collagen peptides, MCT oil, Kerrygold butter, cocao powder, and agave all blended). Yum!
I typically have TWO of these coffees in the morning. One when I wake up, and another a couple hours later when I start work. I LOVE starting work with a fresh cup.
Lunch: I had about 15 minutes to take a break for lunch between clients. This looks like: heading downstairs, putting leftovers in a bowl, heating them up, eating, and getting straight back to work.
This day I had the last of our chicken villa leftovers, with beans. Yum! So good. So easy. This is why I love leftovers. If I worked away from home, I would pack this in a container to heat for later.
Dinner: Pizza! I baked two Trader Joe’s pizzas – one BBQ chicken and the other was veggies with pepperoni and sausage. This made lots of leftovers for Marco to have for lunch the next day.
I often talk to my clients about “Plan A” and “Plan B” with grocery shopping. They can aim for Plan A – making a list of meals that sound awesome, creating a grocery list, and stocking up.
But when that doesn’t happen, or you can’t get to the store, don’t beat yourself up or “throw in the towel” with listening to your body. Just do the next best thing. What else do you have on hand?
For us, this was frozen pizzas and it was perfect. Plan B – making something we had in the freezer and plan to head to the grocery store the next day. Done!
After dinner we cozied up on the couch and fully relaxed. While we relaxed I heated up a mug of warm chicken stock. So cozy and comforting! I just drink it hot and straight. I love it!
Wednesday
Wednesday morning started out with a cup of coffee, answering emails, a Trader Joe’s run (see, planned for “Plan A” the next day!) and then straight to work with my clients for the rest of the day.
Breakfast: Right before my first client session I got a craving for eggs with goat cheese and chives. This was SO good. Probably going to repeat this today!
Snack: Around lunchtime I got a tinge of hunger, but couldn’t break for lunch so I grabbed these nuts/chocolate to snack on between sessions.
Lunch: I had a super LATE lunch of this kale chicken caesar salad from Trader Joe’s and was SO happy to eat this. Have you ever tried it? This is my favorite salad from TJ’s. Sooo good!
Dinner: For dinner we met up with a bunch of friends at BJ’s. I had an ahi salad which hit the spot so good! I also started with an avocado egg roll and a taste of my friends ahi-nacho. So yum!
I left this meal feeling SO great. In fact, my stomach and energy have been feeling awesome all week. It’s Thursday, I’ve got another full day of clients and I’m ready for it.
It’s so important to take care of yourself through whatever season you’re in. Busy work time? How do you want to feel? How can you support yourself (and set yourself up) to feel that way?
Alrighty, all. I’m going to finish sipping on this coffee, send out my Q+A email for today (make sure you’re on my list – sign-up below this post!) to go out at 3:00 PM PST, and starting meeting with clients.
Have an awesome day. Rooting for you!
