Maple Bar Oats.
Good morning everyone 🙂
I hope you guys slept well. I did not sleep last night. I stayed with my friends, Aubrey and Rachel, until about 11pm and then came home to get to bed by 11:30, and then I woke up restless at 4:30am this morning. I kind of half-slept until about 5:20, but then just couldn’t lay there any longer
Full disclosure from yesterday eats: I had a couple small handfuls of sesame almonds & dark chocolate powerberries last night, while with my friends. When I came home, I had 1 wasa rye cracker and half a nana because I didn’t want to go to bed super hungry (keeps me from sleeping good)
I woke up, made my bed, and had my quiet time. With Coffee of course!
I got super hungry pretty soon after I woke up, so I had 1 piece of ezekiel toast with Organic PB & homemade Jelly. This combo was just too good yesterday, so I was craving it again today.
After writing in my journal & reading, I got up to make my Oats
Oats n’ a Mug again! If you have a problem keeping your Oats hot, this is the solution!
I think they were still cookin in the mug they were so hot!
In my Oats
- 1 packet instant maple oats
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 banana
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds (which are amazing for making Oats creamy!!)
On top
- gluten free vanilla granola (Udi’s)
- unsweetened coconut
- a tiny bit of maple agave syrup
Hello Maple Bar Oats!
Have you ever been extremely encouraged by a friend? Well, I have a friend who is going through a terribly hard time, and I have been spending lots of time with her. Last night, my friend Rachel met with us, too. She is such an amazing friend, and she really inspired me last night. She pulled out her bible and was just reading truths into our lives, and seriously just loving my hurting friend soo much. I felt encouraged just listening to her, and it made me crave reading my bible. I wanted to go highlight everything I read right away!
Lately, in my morning quiet time, I read my devotional, and the parts of my bible that go with it, but I miss when I used to just sit and read. My heart felt so full of joy everyday. I love doing this. I honestly don’t know anything in my life that is more comforting than just sitting and reading about how much you are loved, and how much has already been done for you. I was reading, and it just really hit me how much love, grace, and patience is before me all of the time. All I have to do is rest in that… I swear, the days lately seem like one big blanket pillow (pillow are more fluffy :)) wrapped around me keeping my heart safe and warm.
I had to share that because it was just so sweet to reflect on this morning. I am so thankful for such amazing women in my life.
On another note, I was reading PB Fingers Blog this morning, and she posted what her blog used to look like. I got to thinking, what did mine look like? I’ve had 3 different blog stages so far.
1. www.healthyhitsthespot.tumblr.com
This is the baby HHtS. Where she very first started! I remember I was freaking out when I had 25 followers.
By the way, if you go to http://healthyhitsthespot.tumblr.com/page/75 you can see my very first blog posts (as of today)! They are sooo fun for me to read, and I am actually further encouraged when I read back 🙂
2. When my blog reached it’s first thousand, I switched to www.healthyhitsthespot.wordpress.com for more flexibility
This one had the same content as my current blog, just a different layout and pre-made theme
3. Now that HHtS is growing more than ever (soo incredibly thankful), I decided to switch to a self-hosting site which is now www.healthyhitsthespot.com
I don’t have a banner yet, because my logo is currently being worked on 🙂
My blog now, is exactly as I have always pictured it. Clean, light, simple, and organized. It makes me so happy to know that I have been able to meet, come along side, and talk with so many of you girls. This was my dream achieved and beyond, and I know it is still only the beginning. I love this blog so much I can hardly stand it 🙂 Thank you all so much for reading, connecting with me, sharing your stories/recipes, etc… just having fun! That’s what this is all about anyway 🙂
