Oats in a Mug

So, lunch today came pretty soon after breakfast (2 hours)

I wasn’t fully hungry yet, but I have to go babysit in just a few (thankfully I am feeling much better after having some tea and taking some Tylenol Cold Tablets- the only thing that seems to get me through the day when I still have to do stuff), and I decided I’d rather sit down and enjoy my Oats rather than take a mediocre bowl with me, and have to more “mindlessly” eat with the kido’s around.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s a little bit less enjoyable when you have kids constantly needing attention while you eat? Not that it’s a problem, it’s normal! But, I sometimes would just rather eat before I go, so that I can just take a quick snack for if I get hungry.

I had my Oats in a mug today, and I loved it! I don’t know what it was, the mug was just so cozy to hold and it was fun 🙂

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup Coaches Oats
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese (thanks for the idea Kath!!)
  • Splash of vanilla almond milk for creaminess
  • 1/2 banana

And on top…. 1 tsp. creamed honey, 1 tbsp. pepita trail mix (from the farmers market), and 1 tbsp. peanut butter

See how comfortable that is to hold? I loved it! I curled up on my couch with my Mug Oats in hand and fully enjoyed it 🙂

Some of you may be wondering what I do with that spoonful of peanut butter. I know when I first saw Kath do this, I totally wondered… Does she eat a little with each bite? Stir it in?

Well, I am not sure what she does, but after sitting the spoonful of PB on your super hot Oats, it gets really warm and drizzly. I sometimes drizzle it over the top of my Oats to get some with each bite, sometimes I stir it completely in, and sometimes (usually towards the end of the container when the PB is more hard) I just eat a little PB from the spoon with each bite.

Try it all for yourself and tell me how you like your Nut Butter in your Oats! 🙂

Love, Paige
