Reminder: Do something special for yourself
Good morning everyone! How are you this morning? I just rolled out of bed, at 7am. Work at 8.
It’s been all too easy to stay in bed longer these days. The days with zero Coffee. Haven’t had it since last Saturday! I like it, and I miss it at the same time. I stopped drinking it because I wanted to fight off my cold faster. I am assuming that it’s helping, but honestly, my cold is still here. I am however enjoying trying so many teas.
- Yerba Mate
- Green Tea(s)
- Chamomille
- Ginger Lemon Tea
- Yunnan Tea
The other thing, is my mind feels much more at ease. Let me tell you in another week how it’s going 🙂
Yesterday morning for breakfast, I made Green Smoothie, with tons of Greens. Now let me just show you what my Green Smoothie does within 20 minutes.
It goes from dark brownish/purpleish
To much more green.
I don’t know why it has to sit to turn more green, but it does. I had 2 glasses of green smoothie yesterday, early morning.
A few hours later, while babysitting, I had a honey greek yogurt with a little sprinkle of granola
And tea, of course. I love the Yogi Tea Bags. Always something nice to say!
This week, I made a list of nice things I was going to do for myself, and a few nice things I would do for others.
My list included:
- Buy a few new workout clothes
- Get a pedicure
- Get hair done (hence picture above, it’s length is reminding me that I haven’t gotten my hair done in 4 months)
- Quiet time each morning
- Get dressed this Saturday
- Daily exercise
I don’t know about you, but sometime when you work so much, you forget to pamper yourself. Pampering feels really good sometimes. It’s like a little reminder from you to you, that you love yourself, and you want to treat yourself well. So, this Saturday, I am going to get ready, get my hair done, and go on a date with Marco. I’ve been exercising daily, and I ordered new workout gear from Ellie. Anyone ever done that? I’ve been having quiet time to myself each morning, and I will be getting a pedicure sometime in the next couple weeks 🙂
My others-centered list was simple things that I knew would be special to others
- Spend time with parents this week
- Have a special Date day Saturday with Marco
- Bring hairdresser her favorite Coffee when I go in
- Spend time talking/listening to friends
- Gift a friend a night of free childcare
The picture above is a letter I wrote to Marco while waiting for my parents to get to lunch. I wanted to send it through the mail, because it’s something new, that he wouldn’t expect 🙂 PS, I bet you’re thinking, well, now he knows! He already saw the picture last night… haha, I ruined the surprise when I was loading pictures!
So, to do the first thing on my list, yesterday, I spent time with my parents
We went to lunch at Natures Grill. Never a miss at this place. I love it!
I got the Local Favorite Sandwich. Avocado, lettuce, tomato, onion, and sprouts on 9 grain bread with garlic mayo. I am going to make something similar at my house today for lunch.
My parents food looked amazing as well. Veggie burger, fish tacos, brown rice +beans… everything. It was nice to spend time with them 🙂
After lunch, I went to the Gym with Marco for just over an hour, and then headed to my next job.
On my way there I snacked on a Larabar. This was the last one in my cupboard. NEED MORE ASAP 😉
Look how cute this tray is! IDEA FOR MOM’S! This Mom sets out a tray of healthy snacks, and leaves it out for the day. This way, her kids have good snacks to choose from and she doesn’t have to wash a ton of little plastic snackin’ cups (I know how that is).
For dinner last night, all I wanted was yogurt and granola with fruit. So that’s what I had. Totally refreshing. Yum. I’m definitely on a yogurt + granola kick right now.
And for dessert, 2 more baby squares of the dark chocolate bar Marco bought me a couple weeks ago. This was the end of it. Don’t worry, I bought more Dark Chocolate yesterday 🙂
Okay, so how will you treat yourself this week? What are 5 things you are going to do for you? What about others?
