I’m starting a routine challenge this Sunday and want to invite you to join me.
Here’s what’s happening and why I’m doing this:
I’m doing a routine challenge! Meaning, I’m setting up a new routine for myself that I am going to follow for two weeks starting this Sunday.
I love routine. I love routine because it allows to do all of the things in life that I want to do. When I’m consistent with a routine, it allows me to *know* that the things I love will fit into my life. That feels great to me.
Plus, there’s a part of me that just wants to prove to myself that “I’ve got this!” I want to feel the empowerment that comes from following through on something that I want.
For the last year we’ve had so many changes in our lives. We moved to Reno, we got a puppy, we bought a new house, and we’re still making changes to our home (we’re working on the backyard next!).
Because of this, the things I get to do for ME have become more about the house, the puppy, or spending time with Marco. All AWESOME things, but I miss the few things I used to consistently do for me. I miss that space carved out.
So in order to get my mornings back I felt like I needed something FUN to spark that willingness to wake up earlier and take some time for me. Just me.
I *never* want to wake up when my alarm goes off at 5:30 or 6:00. When I think I do the night before and then 6:00 AM comes around I think “What the heck was I thinking? I want to sleep!”
But when I ignore that thought and wake up anyways, within 10 minutes I am so happy to be awake early, reading my bible, journaling with music on, etc… I love my mornings and lately I’ve been sleeping through them.
This is for me. This is an experiment for me to experience having my mornings back for two weeks and from there… I get to decide if this routine is worth it (because for a while, routine takes effort until it’s a habit). Will it be worth it? We’ll find out.
I’ll be sharing my feedback from this routine challenge daily on the blog. This will not only help me to be accountable to myself, but it will make it fun for me to come to the blog and share with you!
I’ll share short snippets of what my days are like, how I followed my routine and how it felt for me. Starting Sunday!
