The Power of Making DECISIONS (& eats!)
Morning girls, and happy Friday! So many things going on today, as I just shared in my lengthy Instagram post (@healthyhitsthespot).
First, getting these eats up, then finalizing details on my car (buying one Monday, and will share a photo of our pick when we do!), choosing outfits for our family photo shoot on Easter with Asia Croson (yay!), and getting excited for our 1 hour type-Skype today for Finally Free MASTERY.
Remember, today is the last day to join, so if you’re thinking about it, head on over. I was reading Jen Sincero’s book You Are A Badass this morning (really fun read, by the way) and she kicked my booty as she talked about moving through fear and making DECISIONS.
She talked about how we’re so often back-and-forth in our decision making. Should I? Shouldn’t I? What if? Ah, but then..! Honestly, we just freak ourselves out! Jen encourages her readers by telling us to DECIDE who we want to be.
She used the example of quitting smoking. If you DECIDE to quit smoking, then you are no longer a smoker.
Just like she is not someone who, in her words, snorts horse-tranquiler pills (haha – she’s funny!) and would never even consider should I? Should I not? she said it’s the same with smoking. You’ve DECIDED to quit. So now, there’s no question. You are not a smoker.
In the same way, she tells us to decide things. If you’re someone who gets dressed daily. Then it’s no question. You make the effort it takes to get ready each day. Don’t think about it more than that.
So, with MASTERY, I want to encourage you. I’ve signed up for online courses anywhere from $99-$6,000 and have never felt regret about my decision. Why? Because I simply CHOSE to do it, and once I decided I was in (as simple as saying it) I was in. I went for it, and never turned back.
Instead of wavering, commit.
Disclaimer: You’ll get so much more that you want out of life.
Heck, girls, the who reason I am now writing to you as a Health Coach is because one day I made the CHOICE to enroll in a coach training program. Who would have known how powerful decisions could be? We know now! Be who you want to be.
Okay, inspirational moment done. (And if you need someone else’s word on the power of making decisions, just as someone who has recently read You Are A Badass.) Let’s dive into daily eats, because I have two days to share with ya!
WEDNESDAY
Breakfast – eggs on toast
Lunch – soyrizo tacos! Corn tortillas, soy chorizo (TJ’s), chopped spinach, and fresco salsa (TJ’s). Sooo good! The hubby scrapped his plate!
Dinner – chicken, rice, broccoli, and avocado bowls for myself and friend Dom. On top, we had options to add: soy sauce, tamari, and chili paste (yum, my fav!).
THURSDAY
Breakfast – over medium eggs and sourdough toast with black coffee
Lunch – more soyrizo tacos! Love leftovers. They make my life so much easier, especially when I’m in such a work groove. Quick break, delicious meal!
Pre-Din Snack – Before dinner, Marco and I went to the gym together. When we got home, I was starving but knew I had about an hour of cooking ahead of me. So, I put some chips & salsa in little bowls and enjoyed them while I cooked. Just enough to take the edge off and still fully enjoy my meal.
Dinner – salmon, broccoli, avocado, and mashed potatoes. If the mashed potatoes look weird to you, it’s because they totally were! Ha! I messed up a bit. My plan was to cook roasted potatoes and on the way home from the gym I decided I wanted to try mashed. Little did I know, less milk. Whoops! They still tasted good, but felt more like a soup base than mashed taters (sorry Marco). 🙂
Petite Treat – a square of dark chocolate
After din, we cleaned up, got our walking shoes on, and headed down to the farmers market where we picked up a small hot chocolate to share. We walked around town, bumped into friends, and enjoyed the evening together.
Alright, that’s what I’ve got for ya today! Don’t forget to head on over to MASTERY, and make the decision that’s best for you.
Girls who have already joined MASTERY have committed to being someone who will be freed from all their food stuff (we all have it), someone who will enjoy food without worry, someone who loves to experiment, someone who goes for what they want, and someone who is excited for their awesome new community.
