Too Good Not to Read

Good morning sweet friends!

Today, I want to talk to you about a few things:

  1. A new breakfast recipe that is so fast and simple, you won’t have an excuse not to make it
  2. The morning routine that has me feeling awesome!
  3. Getting dressed for the day, just for you, and why it’s important to impress yourself

For starers, the breakfast recipe!

Have you ever had Ezekiel bread? Well, this is an Ezekiel tortilla, if you haven’t heard of them. You can  get these at Trader Joe’s!

This is the most delicious, quick, healthy breakfast. There is zero reason you should have to skip breakfast, if you can make this in less than 5 minutes, with less than 5 ingredients:

  • Ezekiel tortilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 small handful of spinach
  • avocado
  • sea-salt

Yea, that’s it! Oh, and some butter to coat the pan — but that’s just to make your eggs taste and look great.

Cook the eggs and the spinach together quickly in a separate pan. I personally like to tear the spinach into small pieces.

Get out your George Forman. You don’t need to put anything on the grill, just heat it up and lay the tortilla down. Put the eggs & spinach in the middle, add half a slice avocado on top, sprinkle with sea-salt, and fold.

Fold the butt first, and then the two sides. Then close the press and leave it for a minute or two.

(If you don’t have a George Forman, you can do this using a regular pan — hold the folded tortilla closed with a spatula, and flip after one minute.)

The morning routine that has me feeling awesome! 

  • 5:00am wake, coffee, quiet time
  • 6:00am Gym
  • 7:00am breakfast, shower, get dressed
  • 9:00am start work

This routine is working so well for me! I do it Tuesday-Friday. It’s allowed me to get done three things each day that I truly care about having in my life: quiet time, exercise, and getting dressed for the day. Which leads me into my next topic:

This morning, I got fully ready, like I do on the other days of the week that I work. My parents both said to me: “where are you going today? Are you meeting someone?” My response was, “nope, I just like to get ready because it makes me feel good.”

It’s so liberating being able to say that I’m just getting ready for myself. Today, I have zero plans that involve leaving my house. I have a long workday, and am in my office from 9:00am-7:0pm. You’ve heard the saying dress to impress. This is actually quite a smart saying, especially for a young entrepreneur. People tend to respect you more when you look like you can be taken seriously. But, why not dress to impress just yourself? You are given one body. Why not have fun with it?

The reason I get ready these days, is not because I have 45 extra minutes laying around to do so – no, it’s because I make it a priority, and I schedule time for it because I know that when I spend time on myself, I respect myself and the people around me more. It’s really that simple. Getting ready makes me feel energized, organized, ready to take on the day, and gives me extra motivation to be nice & productive.
