You’re Here For A Reason
I wanted to share something with you today before I jump into daily eats.
This morning, as I drove to meet my friend Aubrey for our regular Wed/Thurs walk this song came on the radio. Listen to it if you can.
Every time that you wake up breathing
Every night when you close your eyes
Every day that your heart keeps beating
There’s purpose for your life
So don’t give up
Don’t lay down
Just hold on
Don’t quite now Every breath that you take has meaning You are Here for a reason
As we were walking at the park, far out ahead we heard a huge “bang!” We looked forward and saw a telephone pole, almost in slow motion, falling to the ground. We jumped on the phone to call 911 and started running to the accident.
Three cars absolutely totaled, a telephone pole down…
…and all three drivers got out of their cars walking. I couldn’t believe it. Everyone around us was saying “they’re okay?! What?!”
I immediately thanked God and this song came into my mind again.
Every time that you wake up breathing
Every night when you close your eyes
Every day that your heart keeps beating
There’s purpose for your life
I can’t help but think everyone in that accident was just having a normal, regular morning before this happened.
It reminded me that we need to appreciate our days. This kind of thing happens all the time, and sadly, doesn’t always end this safely. If you feel under appreciated, stressed, or overwhelmed this morning, I’d encourage you to let it go and remember… if you’re breathing, if your heart is beating: you’re here for a reason. There’s purpose for your life.
Each one of you is so significant.
If you can’t think of anything to be grateful for today, start with: “thank you for my every heartbeat today. Thank you for my every breath toady.”
Now, from a heavy subject into daily eats. How do I make that transition?
Breakfast yesterday was eggs on toast
Around 10:00 I was hungry again (breakfast was at 6:45) so I had a bowl of chicken, rice, peas, and avocado with soy sauce + sriracha
At 1:00 I had a bowl of leftovers from dinner the night before. Rice, beans, taco meat, and romaine topped with some cilantro dressing. Yum, so good!
Around 4:00 I sipped my leftover green smoothie from the evening before. Re-blend and you’re good to go.
For dinner we ate at my parents house. We had carne asada burritos. Yum, I have a leftover for today if it sounds good later 🙂
I’ll be back tomorrow morning for y’all. See you then? Meet you here around 8:00 (PT).
Can we all remember to be grateful for our heart beats and each breath today?
Love, your Coach Paige
